The Long Way Challenges are self-guided motorcycle ride challenges designed around the most legendary, curve-filled, elevation-gaining roads in Western North Carolina and beyond.

These aren’t about shortcuts or speed.
They’re about choosing the long way — the scenic way — the roads that make you slow down, lean in, and remember why you ride.

Complete a challenge.
Earn the miles.
Claim the shirt.

1. Choose your challenge
Select the Long Way Challenge you want to complete. Each challenge is built around a defined set of legendary roads with clear completion requirements.

2. Book your participation
The challenge is booked as an experience through Riders Share and can be completed:

With one of our rental motorcycles, or
On your own motorcycle

Motorcycle rentals are reserved separately.

3. Receive your ride instructions
After booking:

Renters receive challenge details during motorcycle check-in
Non-renters schedule a shop visit to receive instructions

Instructions include route guidance, photo locations, and verification steps.

HOW "THE LONG WAY" CHALLENGES WORK

4. Ride the challenge
Ride the designated roads on your own schedule.
There are no group rides, no pace requirements, and no time limits.

Ride responsibly and enjoy the journey.

5. Verify completion
Completion is verified by photos taken at challenge-specific locations and shared in one social media post on Instagram or Facebook,

The post must include the required photos and tag Engineered 4 Adventure.
Simple guidelines are provided at check-in to keep the process easy and fair.

If social media participation isn’t a good fit, please contact us before booking. Limited alternative verification options may be available.

6. Earn the reward
Once verified, you’ll earn the official Long Way Challenge-specific t-shirt and recognition for completing the ride

Challenge shirts are included for participants renting one of our motorcycles.
Riders completing a challenge on their own motorcycle may purchase the official challenge shirt for $10.
