Introduction

On June 22, 2024, we embarked on a memorable on-pavement ride through the beautiful landscapes of North Carolina and Tennessee. With perfect weather and a fantastic route, our group of eight riders set out for an adventure that took us from the Marshal exit off future Interstate 26, through Hot Springs, and onward to Norris Lake in Tennessee.

Highlight of the Week

Our journey began early in the morning with five motorcycles and one Slingshot. We were excited to ride our two available Street Glides: the 2021 Billiard Red Street Glide Special and the 2015 Black Street Glide. The ride to Hot Springs was smooth and scenic, offering breathtaking views of the countryside.

One of the highlights of our trip was stopping at the Veterans Overlook, where we had the privilege of witnessing a group of veterans changing the flag at the memorial. It was a poignant moment that added a sense of reverence to our adventure.

We continued our ride to Norris Lake, where we enjoyed a delicious meal at Bubba's Brews on the lake. The lakeside setting provided a perfect backdrop for our lunch, and we took some time to relax and take in the stunning views.

Tips and Recommendations

For those planning a similar on-pavement ride, here are a few tips:

  • Plan Your Stops: Make sure to schedule stops at interesting landmarks and eateries along the way, like Veterans Overlook and Bubba's Brews.

  • Check for Road Conditions: Be aware of any construction zones on your route. We encountered two construction red lights on The Rattler, but they didn’t detract from the overall experience.

  • Stay Hydrated: Riding in the summer heat can be exhausting, so keep hydrated and take breaks as needed.

Featured Motorcycles

This week, we rode our 2021 Billiard Red Street Glide Special and 2015 Black Street Glide. Both motorcycles handled the winding roads beautifully and provided a comfortable and thrilling ride. Our customer, Martin, shared his thoughts about his ride on this same bike: "The bike was in excellent condition. Had a fabulous 2 days of riding in the mountains."

Conclusion

Our ride to Norris Lake was a fantastic experience filled with stunning views, great company, and memorable stops. Ready to embark on your own motorcycle adventure?
